photoblog image Clockwork Toy

Clockwork Toy

I was not going to post this image however, both Nev and Mr Skee made 2 very apt comments yesterday, but Nev was the one that I went with.

I have been going back to my pre-digital days of late and am trying to adapt some non-digital effects to my work. It's pretty obvious what's going on here but I find it fun to re-visit some techniques that I used to use.

This is the second of 3 possibly 4 taken at Brimham rocks. I was attracted to the foreground in this image which was giving off a lovely glow at sunset.

All the best Mal

Mal very ethereal. The curves of the rocks are just lovely. Your not the crazy hermit that comes jumping out of the cave looking for his juniper berries are you. Vey nice capture.
Mal: "Get off my juniper bushes, It's all I've got to bloody well eat", It's your fault Nev that I posted it at all. Yes I am that hermit and crazy. All the best Nev, MAL.
I drop my hat Mal...you are very good!!!
Mal: Then I would pick up that crown, dust it off, and place it gently back on your head where it belongs. Thank's Jide. Mal

Mal is this a new camera or are you using Mr Skees? I have serious glass envy. its been a while since i watched life of brian. I had forgotten that they called the hermit a heretic and wanted to kill him.

Mal: Thank's for the link, I am rusty on my life of Brian one liners. Had the 5D a while but I still enjoy using the 10D. All the best Mal

Mal: Thank you, it was the atmosphere I was trying to create. Mal

Canon 5D when did that happen, did you ask the Substers permission before you bought one? How dare you have a 5D before me? grin grin

Shot is growing on me, not my cup of tea but growing on me.

Suby
Mal: Hi Suby, had it a few months now but I still use the 10D and still will till it breaks. Always appreciate your honesty, I'll try and get you some posh tea soon. Mal

this is one of the rare shots, depth, intensity and silence. Zen has been already mentioned. This is a picture to have big size on the wall...

I can almost hear "All About Eve" playing in the far distant....
Mal: She moves through the fair perhaps!
Oh I see Mal....Thank you ! They are very nice and artistic. I like them. I don't know how you do that. Do you use filter or do you modify them with photoshop ?
It would be kind from you you to explain me that (if it's not a family
secret given from father to son of course ! )
I would try that !
Many thank's
Roland
