Thank you for all the comments, I have learned a lot over the last few weeks

Just returned from a trip to London. The hotel at which I stayed offered an internet service from the room for the rate of 5 pounds per 15 mins!!!! Hmmmm!

So, I logged on to look at the various shutterchance images uploaded over the weekend and I reluctantly was prepared to pay my 5 pounds.

When I booked out and payed the bill, I was delighted to see that their system had failed to note that I had actually had this service.

I have been over charged for the rubbish room but am very smug that they have failed to charge me for services recieved.

This image is a aluminium component that I made when I was an apprentice. lighting being the tv and inverted.

All the best Mal

hey mal,

what a great capture. i really love the sharp angles and lighting in this shot. the colors from the tv really add a terrific highlights to the shot. really nice work. congrats on the free internet...that's what they get for trying to charge people 5 pounds for the internet.
Mal: Hey Nicole, I still smile when I think that I have got away with the princely sum of 5 pounds, but I expect I will get a letter informing me that I owe it to them - but they can go and get STUFFED. Mal
and are the other aluminium components in your life similarly named? Timmy, Arthur, Johnathan perhaps.

I know someone who had names for the speakers on his hi-fi when he was a child.
Mal: Yes they are Russell, so stop picking on me ;-)

nice nuts mal. (said in a very masculine and not a "are you being served " way) I like the machined grooves in the component. i am presuming it is the light and not the 5d giving a chromatic aberration in the foreground. nice macro
Mal: I should have called it "Nuts" or "Nev is Nuts", you are always one step ahead clever cloggs! The shot was inverted Nev, so may be something to do with that. The shot looked pretty dull as it was straight. All the best Mal
Unusual ! smile I like it !
Mal: Glad you like it. Mal

Mal: You are very perceptive Mr Sam, if it does not breath or have a pulse and is very small, I enjoy photographing it. All the best Mal

You really have an eye for these little things I always take for granted. Nice lighting on the subject.
Mal: Hey Oladeji, I really appreciate a comment like that. I'm only just realising that if you can create good light around any given subject then there is an image to enjoy. All the best Mal

Hey Oladeji, really appreciate that comment. I'm begining to learn that if you get the lighting right on any subject living or otherwise there is an image to enjoy. Mal

Dude you were in London and you never contacted us to do some shooting? Not good.
Mal: Hey Mr J, I'm about to make you regret that comment!

I need to return to the city week commencing 9th of October (the date is not fixed and can be flexible), I'll be staying at my usual hotel in Ealing. If you have a day spare during that week, I would love to hook up with you and do some crazy stuff!
