Last of the Summer Wine

I have been meaning to post this one for the past 5 weeks but as you will know by now that I like to post images in a series but had nothing to accompany this one. I went back to Saltburn on Friday afternoon/evening and grabbed a few shots, so this week will be a another boring Saltburn week.

The shot is pretty straight other than to remove some lens flair. I have been taking pictures for 26 years and only realised recently that lens flair is completely dependant on appeture settings! How stupid am I?

As always, give it your best shot for silly comments, they cheer me up ;-)

All the best Mal

PS. A good friend recently pointed out that I have not spoken recently about PS work. I run an open book and will gladly tell all. But do not wish to bore those that are not interested. E-mail me if you are interested.

lovely shot Mal. I really enjoy your photos from Saltburn so it won't be 'another boring Saltburn week ' as far as I concerned smile
Mal: thank you Ellen, let me know at the end of the week, if you are bored wink Mal
It's times like these I wish I were next to a beach instead of a highly polluted river.

AWESOME!
Mal: Hey Streets, a warm welcome to stay at mine and grab some shots up here! just say the word. Mal

7 beautiful sunsets mal. Mal i would be interested to know what you learned about lens flares. One thing i noticed when i started taking night shots is that they do not seem to appear so quickly when you use a longer shutter and smaller aperture but you almost always get from street lights with maximum aperture. I dont know if you've posted a boring shot yet. great work on the capturing those silhouettes and reflections as well.
Mal: You are spot on Neal, I shall reveal all on Thursday! Mal
hey mal,

lovely shot. i think that the power of this shot is in its simplicity. although there are a ton of details in this shot, the lack of "stuff" really gives it a minimalist feel, and hence its strength.

All it's missing is Pamela Anderson! Lovely tones and the reflections of the pillars really add to the composition.
Mal: It took me ages to clone Pam out!!! Are you now saying, That I should have left her in?

Mal: Hey best model, don't want you going blind before big trip to rid yourself of all evils! Forgot to say, count me in on weekend plans. Mal x
I see no Compo or Clegg!!! Very peaceful and relaxing shot, super silhouette, very, very nice colour tones and exposure.. From the weather reports I have been hearing, this really must have been the very last of Summer. This pic actually makes me quite sad, cos it's better than the last one I posted!!You, evil, dastardly rotter!! Anyway, well done. Regards, Neil.
Mal: Compo, Clegg and Foggy are the pillars Neil wink Mal

Apart from that yellow blob in the sky reflecting on that gaudy, wrinkly surface and the dark eyesore thing on the right, this is one stunningly beautiful shot.
Mal: It took me ages to steam roller the beach, but nothing worked! and the blob in the sky really ruined the shot! wink Mal

Poster stuff even if it is Saltburn (not that i know here that is). The oil platform to the right is missing a leg - should be four of them.

Anyhow, interesting info about lense flare. Now i will be able to create it on purpose. Thanks.
Mal: About the flare! Thursday will reveal all. Mal
