photoblog image A Million Stars

A Million Stars

I shake my head and shiver

They smile and they stab my back as they shake my hand

Send out an SOS plea, come quickly, I'm marooned in monkeyland

Is there anyone out there, who understands me? Anyone at all!

I'm idly staring at the sky, did anybody hear me sigh?

A million stars are a moving sight, to all you out there hearing me tonight

It's just a trick of the light.

I'm not really sure that I have a photographic style but there are genres of photography that I feel happier in. A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with Neal about style and his great post the other day was so in tune with images that give me pleasure and is very much in keeping with my natural style (if I have one).

So this week will be images and songs that I like and represent me!

Beautiful shot Mal. What im most impressed with is the feeling of motion.
Mal: Thank you Elsie. Sometimes they work but other times they are rubbish. grin Mal
maybe 2nd! anyway, gives me a chance to pontificate: you may find this strange: as a photographer, i don't like photos as a 'picture on a wall'! i much prefer paintings: this is more in keeping with a 'painterly' image. Superb stuff!
Mal: Thank you Dave. It's a style you either get or you do not. All the best. Mal

Beautiful, beautiful!
Mal: The Geek bites back! wink Thank you Suzanne. Mal
very cool shot mal. it looks as tho you have captured a man through a parallel universe.
Mal: Thank you Genevieve. I'm not sure what universe he was on at the time wink Mal

I requested this pic on Nev's post 'cause I wanted to test if a sharpness junkie like me could enjoy it. And as I suspected, I do. I simply love it. Thank you. And thanks for this week's resolution: the pictures of the things we love are the best ones, aren't they?
Mal: Hi Samira. Yes, this weeks images are not technically perfect or even great images but they please me. Thankyou for spending time here. Mal

one of the best images I've seen today, if not the best, inspirational stuff
Mal: Coming from you, I like the sound of that Ade. Thank you. Mal
This is very rembrantesque. The darknes the mixture of tones and the highlights on the hands. It looks like Harmy steamin' in to give Ricky Ponting a dig in the ribs. I bloody love it, Mal.
It tells a hundred stories this image. The dynamic speaks of agression, anger, even rage which fits the dark atmosphere the image gives off. Are they masts in the background? Now I'm beginning to think dickensian thoughts. Really do like this, Mal and I can see why you do too.
This is a nice one, well represented. Interesting idea. smile
Mal: Thank you Sarthak. All the best. Mal

Hey they are coming out of the closet fast and furious - what Neal refers to as blurrists or outafocusist. Neal incited me and then got involved over the weekend in mail exchange with 'transeunte' a fellow blogger who has http://ciudadanonima.aminus3.com/ in his closet (I thought these were amazing shots). And today you do it too - taking up nev's challenge.

This whole thing - Neal is not to sure if it could be called a genre - but i now think you can - is intriguing and makes for the most interesting blogs. Like yours today.

I am learning
Mal: Thank you Louis, none of this weeks images are technically great but I hope that they have a mood and they please me anyway. Mal

I can feel the isolation in the tones and the desire to break free. The little flecks of light in the top of the frame are very nice. Wouldn't it be interesting if we had shots for all those memories and all those memorable and forgetable moments in our lives. Beautiful post mal and eagerly awaiting the next glimpse. i am glad you took the challenge. We are all the better for it.
Mal: All down to you my friend! wink Mal
this is very different Mal. An interesting painting it looks like.

This is really spooky Mal, like some wandering Zombie from a 50's horror flick... you can even see the graveyard wooden crosses on the right.
Fascinating stuff
Mal: Thank you SL. Did that jpeg get to you? Mal
Interesting and quite disturbing image that gets the imagination going. It also goes very well with the lyrics, I've not listened to The Chameleons in a long time, might revisit them as I was really into them a few years ago.
Mal: You were the first to know it Tris wink Mal
really lovely Mal. looks like a piece of contemporary dance.
really lovely Mal. I think this is my favourite picture of yours so far.

Looks like a piece of contemporary dance.
Mal: Thank you Russell, glad you like it. Mal
i wont go as far as to say its my fav from you but its nothing short of brilliantly expressive...i think that of uve gone so far u might as well improve upon the shot by making the lighting a bit softer, a bit more muted to just give it a deeper impact....lovely words there, very emo...
Mal: Thank you Master, love emo to. Mal
you got Neal just right, I pictured him like that too smile

just kidding ! nice one senior, hope you had a great week end
Mal: Thank you mate. Mal
Not my cup-of-tea, but I have to admire the use of light here Mal...again wink
Mal: Thank's Chris, you won't like my posts this week very much grin they get worse from here. Mal

nicely done
Mal: Thank you Abi, have a lovely break. Mal
Hey Mal(adjusted)!! How the f#@% do you and Neal get away with it, posting such absolute trash and making it look brilliant!!! LOL. I see you are hedging your bets and going green ShMood - coward!!!!

You non-conformist focusmongers are getting really out of hand and make the rest of us mere photographers wonder why we bother with such trivia as shutter speed and focus!!! I dunno why I put up such a sharp image today!!

Yeah, ok Mal, it is a brilliant piece of photography, you got me. Now make it mono and you will have the definitive 1940's horror movie promo poster. Super stuff mate. Kindest of regards, Neil.
Mal: Perhaps we are "Trashist Monks" Neil! And we go around preaching to the unconverted Focusists, telling them the errors of their ways! wink Mal
