The lovely Lara

This was taken in the summer! It was Lara's Christening!

As you probably know by now, I like to post images in a weekly theme, but this week are simply images that I like and mean something to me personally!

You make Caravaggio proud with that lovely lighting!
Mal: Thank you Sinem, Funny you should mention that master/god painter, I'm reading a book about him at present! All the best. Mal
Morning subnor(Mal). Now that Christmas is done and dusted, let's get back to the harsh reality of blogging!! This is the biggest load of rubbish I have seen since I started blogging on shutter, it is so sweet, it wants to make me be sick.

HAA Mal, gotcha and everyone else who read the first paragraph!! I had to get some humour back in to the comments, I am merry christmassed out!!
Beautiful family portrait Mal and great use of the natural light. My only crit would be, that I think you should have gone with slightly more DOF to get Rich in focus, as it stands, he looks like a bytstander. Don't worry mate, I have seen so called "pros" do exactly the same thing and have the cheek to charge for it. Have a great day Mal, many kind regards, Neil.
Mal: Yep, I take on board all those comments, especially the dof. Mal
The little pumkin has a sharp look, full of emotions ! you did a very good job Gringo Mal ! I hope you had a very good xmas, did Santa bring you good stuff? Mine was good, as long as there is wine, I am always good smile
Mal: Santa brought me a hangover!!!!! wink Mal

Tried to comment yesterday but shutter was not playing the game. The light here is beautiful and i am not sure i agree with Neil gien you were already at iso1000. This is one of those family shots that are treasured for years. lovely work.
Mal: Thank you Neal. Yes, you are right about my concious descision regarding the ISO thing! I had been taking images in a very dark church and I very rarely stray over 800! Had I had time to think correctly, I would have backed off to Iso 400 and set the shutter to around 1/40th giving me a bit more depth! But by the time I had done that the moment would have been gone. All the best. Mal
this is a very lovely family shot Mal, well done
Mal: Thank you Neil, I appreciate the lovely comment. Mal

Zoe again.

This shot is gorgeous.
I love the way the light hits Lara's arm as it's coming forward.
Perfect timing.

And everyone's facial expressions are so warming.
Priceless.

I hope they have this framed and on the mantel piece for everyone to see!
Mal: Thank you Zoe, it's lovely to have you comment on these images, I'm glad that you have grabbed dad's camera and are showing him how to use it! That flower image today is fantastic, photography is a whole load of fun, I really hope that you want to take it further and capture images at every oppertunity. All the best. mal
