Oh Mal where in the world did you learn about such a fine malt as Glen turret ? you have jumped up into the stratosphere here mate.
Mal: Hi J, I did not realise you were a fine malt fan! Between the age of 9 to 13 I lived on the outskirts of Crieff in Scotland, my home was less than 1 mile from the distillery.
and a good photo indeed. happy new year mal. hope its a great one wink ~ from a crazy canadian
Mal: Hey crazy lady, I'm glad your fingers didn't fall off! wink Mal
There's something wrong with your washing up liquid, I never remember sunlight being that colour. I think thos holiday festivities took their toll on you mate!! Should have called the photo "hangover" ! Very nice photo Malcolm, super colour and lighting, very good DOF and composition. Many regards, Neil.
Mal: Thank you Neil, I used some clear orange plastic celathane over a torch to produce the colour. All the best. Mal

happy new year mal...!!
nice shot,
love the composition and tones,
very abstract though,i cant figure out HOW you took it,could you elucidate?
Mal: Hi Shiv

Both the items that you can see in the image are special edition malt glasses which were upside down on a wooden draining board in the kitchen.

The orange light was produced using a cheap torch with clear orange plastic celathane film covering the lens of the torch and positiond low at the rear of the glasses. I was trying to reproduce the colour of the malt whisky.

The camera was on a tripod with a fairly shallow depth of field.

All the best. Mal

How in this world did you manage to transfer your 'morning-after dim view' into the soap bubbles? Magic lighting you have there.

Over here when we get hold of a single scotch like this, we reverently drink it - but don't wash the bottle afterwards. Strange custom.

A great shot and well spotted.
Mal: Thank's Louis. The lighting was a simple torch with plastic celathane covering the lens and positioned at the rear of the scene.

Those are actualy special edition glasses from the distillery (only 1000 were made)inverted on a wooden draining board. Mal
Fantastic photo. I seriously think I have alot more to learn from you than you from me. Nice work Mal.
Mal: Thank you Jide. Stop making me giggle! wink Mal
Amazing shot. Only flaw is the bit of golden light is a tad too strong, I would burn it down a little as the contrast there is a bit painful on the eyes when using a bright monitor. Good to see you back though. Happy New Year!
Mal: Thank's Urv. Yes, I take on board your comments regarding the contrast issues, you have a very valid point. All the best. Mal
very creative shot without stress mal
Mal: Thank you Ogonna, I didn't have too much stress after finishing the bottle! wink Mal

Good job you don't use a dishwasher! How you achieved this picture I've absolutely no idea, it's wonderful.

I'd never put my camera in the dishwasher, its not good for it

nice bubbles!
Mal: I've read the instructions from cover to cover Paul and nowhere does it say 'Do not immerse you camera in hot soapy water'. But it's not working now! wink Mal
I had not realised Glenturret was the home of my least favourite whiskey, "Famous Grouse". I can't say I have ever sampled their single malts however.

I think the shot is a perfect example of creative photography but how many photographers carry round a torch and the cellophane wrapper off Quality Street Orange cream sweety! Or is it Cadbury's Roses? I knew I was saving them up for something, you have just reminded me. Great shot Mal.
Mal: In the late 80's Pernod bought The Glen Turret distillery due to their failing natural market (and rubbish product). Around 2001 they then sold the distillery to Famous Grouse (I was not happy) again due to falling sales of their own blended rubbish. This appears to have given some market respect to the grouse name! But your dead right Digi, I wouldn't buy Grouse if my life depended on it. Mal
happpppppy neeeeeeeeeeew yearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I like the feeling of this one, even if I am not a scotch guy! you're very traditional gringo Mal

Oh yeah, the photo...could almost be a advertisin' fingy...
Mal: I've no room in my tiny kitchen Andrew! Sometimes, I just leave the dishes out in the rain, that usually does the trick! All the best. Mal
était-ce aussi bon que beau?
Mal: le whisky était fantastique. Mon favori

Thank you. Happy new year. Mal
Mal, when I say you're traditional, I said that for the Scotch for a Scottish smile
