photoblog image Lina

Lina

This image of Lina was taken at the wedding reception of some very good friends Steve & Clare.

I suppose the funny thing was that both Lina and myself were a little tipsy, so I'm surprised that the image worked out ok. A massive thank you to Lina because I took 15 shots at full power flash and at close range.

Shortly after this shot was taken, I dropped the camera with flash attached and completely trashed my EX580! Oooops!

All the best. Mal

Hope you didn't spill your wine Mal. Another beautiful image. I have never quite understood your uncertainty about your people shots.
Mal: I'm a Scotsman, I never spill a drink! wink Mal
Hi Mal, darn shame about the camera but what a way to go! Beautiful photograph, she looks absolutely lovely.

This is a lovely picture of a lovely woman. This is just my unqualified opinion, but I think it would be better with both of her eyes in focus, though.
You know Mal - those looks are worth the Flash you trashed grin This really is an amazing shot - can't find any flaw smile
Unfortunate about the camera Mal and it happens to the best of us. This is an excellent portrait but I think I would have preferred to either have the entire face sharper, or the entire face soft, but not in-between as this is. And as I look closer again, I think I would opt for the softer version and make it a bit more mysterious looking.

They say the best moments are captured when you're drunk. Okay, I just made that up, but you get it tongue lovely shot of a lovely woman.

You/the flash got hot and you nearly burnt your fingers in the process - and since you dulled the senses somewhat ... poor flash.

Kept your head enough to still produce a great portrait.

Interesting thing when i took a quick overview of the thumbnails today, there is a large number of mono portraits on the site - just something i noticed.

Cracking shot. Love the focus on Lina's eye.
In that way it reminds me of one of Simons shots ( http://beakerst.shutterchance.com/photoblog/3871.htm ).
The eyes make this shot grab you, well done Mal.

Don't ask me why but I see Barbra Streisand in this face and actually had to do an about face! I hope you take that as a compliment, Mal. smile
nice look you captured.

Hiya Mal(formed). You really can put some of the worst load of trash on this site can't you!!! Good job this is not amongst that then! LOL. Another wonderful shot Mal, the soft focus works perfectly well the way it is. I hvae to disagree with Ginnie about the Barbara Streisand lookalike, I feel that Lina looks more like a youngish Annie Lennox, especially with the hair as it is. Lovely pose and super composition. Yep, a beautiful photograph. Many regards, Neil.
That's a grat B&W portrait. A lot of tenderness here. Mal, thnaks a lot for your nice daily comments... how could I say... i really appreciate your enthusiasm !! Thanks, many thanks to you.
beautiful...love the softness...possibly my fave for tomorrow....

I like how the focus is only on one eye.

These shots are all about timing, getting the expression right and then preparing the processing to complement the shot. Very well done.
