photoblog image Blade Runner

Blade Runner

Hello everyone, I hope that you are all well etc and I'm looking forward to catching up with you all.

I had a great time in Japan (fourth visit) and Australia (first visit). I took a load of pics but in my normal way, I cocked most of them up!

This one is from Osaka in Japan from the roof of the Omeda building (one of the few places that is not behind glass) and is the tallest structure in Osaka standing at over 500m. This was my fourth visit to this building and again high winds were my enemy - hence the short shutter speed!

Incidently Bladerunner was filmed in Osaka

All the best. Mal

Look forward to the catch up Mal tongue
Any plans to tour NZ?

All the best,
Raymond (I'm a Kiwi hence the dig at Australians wink )

Bam! Mals back! Welcome back. Great shot & title too.. Love the detaill and clarity in the shot... I might just look at this for another 10 minutes...
Mal is back.
Oh great!
Not!
Annoyingly brilliant as usual. I was hoping you had got your camera stolen by dodgy baggage handlers so we wouldnt have to be shamed by more of your sublime photos (and a seemingly charmed life where you just swan around the world to great photogenic locations aswell it seems.)

HA. I think we've all been waiting for you with bated breath!

I did NOT know Bladerunner was filmed in Osaka. You learn something new every day, of course. What a magnificent city (no, I've never been there).

Somebody to insult again at long last!!I got sick and tired of being nice to everybody! smile So travel weary Mal(content), could you not find a better image to announce your return from the Land of the Rising Sun and Down Under?!! You know, a Geisha Girl or a fine looking Sheila!! Just joking mate, glad to have you back and a very nice low light shot to announce your return. Many kind regards, Neil.
Sweeet. Hope you're well and all wink
Great shot Mal! Very well captured - the city looks so alive.

4 sec as a "short shutter speed"...smile Anyway, an absolutely fabulous picture! Should certainly make an impressive print.

Maybe cutting away the chain of blue lights in the very lower part?

Looks like they were able to put the colour pixels back in that sensor of yours when in Japan eh Mal. Very blade runner minus the space ships and fembots. too bad you had to rush the shot with a 4 second shutter. I am always surprised by what pops into the frame in city shots when the shutter is open for longer. very nice return to blogdom Mal
Really like the colours and lights in this shot - great night capture.

Well, you didn't cock this one up . It looks fantastic with all those lights and colours. I might consider cropping the blue bit at the very bottom away, as it seems to tug my eyes away from the breathtaking scenery behind.
Very futuristic, can't wait to see more!

Hey Mal, I had to come back here again, the buildings in the far left seems to be leaning to the left, a quick skew fix may help.
Welcome back! And this is a lovely picture. I am going to Japan this weekend, but I doubt I'l be bringing back pictures like this smile

It's very blue isn't it? I think that's what makes it look so different from any other cityscape I've seen.

Beautiful picture Mal, as always.

Good to see the first of your holiday snaps, if the rest are like this we're in for some wonderful treats smile

(But I hate your anti spam code, five times now and still not posted my message!)
Yeah, it does look like Blade Runner a little... This is a great scenic Mal and I really like the blue shades and the reddened roadways give it a bit of warmth
This view is amazing… seems that I am seeing the beginning of a videogame. Mal, friend, great trip you are carrying out!
The crusader returns from afar with rich booty, it seems!

Welcome back, Mal! Impressive shot and perfect title. Well done!
Blade Runner is one of my all-time favorite sci-fi movies. It still holds up today as a great movie. Nice shot definitely shows the immensity of the city.
