Is the steam from the kettle blurring the picture up?

Great shot - just love the hand motion.

Gotta watch out for the ALCHEMY in whatever room you find it, Mal! It'll make a drunkard outta you! grin
Is that really in a kitchen, or are you just trying to sneak another brilliant shot into BeakerSt's compo?? wink
Lol, ditto!

4 seconds at iso 1600. Need a few coins for the electrickery meter. And i thought everything they said about scotsmen was fallacy. Hope you don't ask your dinner guests to bring their food as well. hehee
Wonderful shot Mal. The tones are great and the more you stare the more you see.

I have been looking at this image for 5 minutes, and I am darned sure the folks have moved.
I think the "midnight blue" tint is pure genius. Love it, Mal!

I thought the Joburg freeze was also affecting my vision, or I was still shivering, but no, I've got my glasses on, I am sat in front of the heater and I am not cold, so it must be another Mal at his evil worst, photo!! gringrin Since that ain't you in the pic, I have a feeling that you are taking in flood victims and making them pose for you as payment for getting warm and dry. Another very good photograph mate. Many regards from a freezing cold Highveldt, Neil.

Excellent work again Mal. The motion blur works perfectly well. I can't wait to see it elsewhere wink

Interesting two headed symbiont. Was it friendly? Great shot. All the best, Dave
Reminds me of being taught to use the zoom for "creative" effects - how times (and equipment) have changed. I like the mystery and having to work hard to decode it - just don't talk to me about spooky pics, who knows what is going on with all those hands! Nice one.
Interesting image Mal. Not sure if I like this one or not - it certainly has me thinking and I've come back to it a number of times today so if the intent was to make a statement, then it works. David.

CONGRATULATIONS, not only have you produced another "Malesque" image (this is pure Art!!) but I just noticed you are not only the highest ranking Shutterchancer on VFXY, but you have also entered the top 100 there!!! At this very moment you are ranked number 95!!!

reason for me to give a party!!!! :d
I agree with all 24 people who left a comment before I did.
Like it very much. Exciting picture.
Funny and creative !!

Submitted over at BeakerSt for June's Challenge

Relevance and Creativity
I'm sure you throw this stuff at me just to challenge me! I'm not seeing relevance in anything other than the title? I'm still a benevolent fellow though and can appreciate your creativity so shall give you 6

Overall Impact
The impact is quite strange it draws you in hypnotically and then makes you sick and nauseus so you have to retreatÂ…in that sense it has an impact. It's effective but it's so so different to my own understanding I find it hard to critique. A bit like Jackson Pollack looking at The Haywane. For impact alone I'll give it 7 as it clearly is controlled and well presented rather than just looking like a drunken party shot that's well out of focus.

It is well composed, elements nicely balanced and in good positions. Scores 8

Quality of Image
It's as you wanted it to be so I can't really fault itÂ…well just a little, 8

Total 29/40

For a list of all entries see BeakerSt July 24th

Cheers for taking part Mal. As always this is just my opinion!!
