Has all the eye-opening impact of that travelling slab of stuff on Kubrik's cave-men at the start of 2001.

This building rising out of the smooth glassiness of the water has a really chilling feel to it. Combined with the dark brooding sky, it makes for a very atmospheric image.

Theres a lot to be said about this shot but I just don't have the words to do it justice so you'll just have to make do with "this is a beauty"

Those "family issues" happen to the best of us, Mal, so I appreciate your words. In the meantime, you have the knack at teasing us with what you do best. Thank you!

The eyes filled with your pics we are dunking in a new world, party real, partly fictional- a kind of imaginary, rather strange and cold, distraught reality although some details remind us of our known reality, all that is very fascinating and confusing! A beautiful lonely mountain landscape we see as I saw it in Tirol/Austria over 1500 mtr., but here we see no mountaineer, no boat, no bird, absolute silence, no waves, no clouds, but a supranaturallike light -spreading out over lake and sky- and a watchtower which evokes many feelings, 'big brother is watching you', threat, spying, no freedom (we Germans remember the 'Iron Curtain', soldiers, and deads...)- and the title word 'Sentinel' might implicate some additional meanings- but the tower has sunk into the lake, perhaps abandoned -- that all could intensify such a dominant feel of being lost...-- so many emotions and thoughts are elicited by your photo, and I think that only poetry could get its ambiguity. Very impressive and provocative and unique!
For you and your family all the best too! Warmth and confidence- yes, that we need!

Do you believe that a person being in danger and crying for help might get help in this region? I'm sure her/his crying went unheard! We might be absolutely lost or be fighting a loosing battle!
Excelente gradación de grises. Una foto perfecta y preciosa

The sentinel is trying to hog the space/light. Great picture and it must be in scotland somewhere.

You sort them out if it sorting they need, comfort them if it is comfort they need, etc. Know you can/will.
I love being near water, well the sea preferably but streams, rivers, lochs and lakes as well. There's something in these water images of yours that soothes the soul.
Hope all is well with family.
I imagine that this is some damn dam somewhere! I've just been writing about what Manchester did to Thirlmere, so it resonates. It also makes me think of the damnbusters and that great spoof advert for lager. Very stark and chilling image.

Mal, we are here at Land's End, I' m afraid, we shall be lost for ever if nobody will carry us off and take us to another point of earth or sky or water, I think there must still be places where we could get filled with other thoughts and new impressions and feeling, perhaps? (but please don't understand that as a kind of pressure- never!)
Absolutely an impressive mood image. Great b/w processing, outstanding composition and love the dark contrasts.
Stunning. Did you try a square crop?
Your last photos, as always a pleasure to enjoy them, masterful!
stunning b&w capture, great technique
I don't want to analyze this - its just too beautiful to think about details.
You are the best!
great photo Mal...the softness of the light from the long exposure is beautiful as is your B&W conversion!
Great, great image. Perfect still effect due to long exposition. Bravo!
