Great series, Mal. I remember this place from another of your photos. These elusive people look like ghosts...some perhaps making their way into the white oblivion at the end of the walkway, others prefering to stay a while still. Wonderful image.
It's like slowly falling into sleep... or leaving the world of dreams and memories...
amazing as always mal...
You left the best to last for me. This is amazing.
Nice Work Mal.
Wow, very nice. I really enjoyed the series - it does such a great job of capturing a mood.
The vanishing point makes this feel like a journey for me, Mal. You do these so well!
nice effect you have here eh?
Did you put the vaseline all over the filter or just the middle? Nice work
Lovely impressive work... top marks!
Like ghosts, I really love these silhouetttes Mal ! So mysterious...
Lovely image, mal, really well captured with the grainy effect.
Yes I'm interested, but will steer clear of the vaseline (even on a filter). All about the symmetry, it works brilliantly - amazing patience you have. Paid off yet again ;o)
Hi Mal.
A fine image to conclude a really interesting set of pictures. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful and very interesting (as always).
Another cool shot Mal.
Suzanne has hit almost right for me but I'd add that the second from the right looks like a very under-dressed ghost ! Ok so I'm going blind already. Ok I'll ask ... what's a vaseline, no I'll look it up !
You really are the best at these kind of pictures Mal. This one as just blown me away
Master Mal. You know I love this, nuff said
Another vaseline job. So you get around a lot
Excellent departure picture for your life series. One of the few things that you can depend on to stay yours - your life.
Another great image Mal. Would look good on the cover of a CD.
This is too damn good for a CD cover. richard
i love the slow mo 8mm feel to this shot. If you blink your eyes at it the people are moving. As for Louis' concerns i think you must get the 5 lb tub of vas from the 2 dollar shop. great work as always.
Looks like the ghosts are going back to where they came from. I wonder what drove them away. This is a powerful series, Mal. It would make a great exhibit.
Very haunting. Lovely shot Well done.
Fading to gray
Beautiful, Mal...as usual. Love it.
Ghostly figures who could walk off the wharf and not get wet. Do ghosts get wet? Very eerie, Mal. You da man!
Very nice composition, well done !
i dont suppose u got these people to walk for you...the arrangement is so symmetric...
How can I explain to my Mrs that I need vaseline for my photography?
Has an alien abduction feel to it. All the best, Dave.
This has many resonances - the ghostly figures heading off resolutely towards the distant horizon, then what?.... I like Minelmio's comment about leaving the world of dreams and memories. Great series.
Ingrid
As resonant as ever, Mal. Wraiths make great models!
Beautiful and ghostly, Mal. I love it.
awesome atmosphere.....
It is a full-time occupation living our own lives.
We are very fortunate if we find a companion with whom we can travel some of the way. It can be a sad mistake, though, if we try to hold on to those whose paths diverge from ours...that, at least, is my experience. This astonishing, beautiful image depicts an achingly sad point of departure, where one has been cut adrift by the others or by his own determination; their path seems well-defined at the moment, but who knows what is over the horizon. The one who is adrift will create his own path, and probably there will be new companions with whom to share some of the journey...but that is another image... It has been a difficult series, mal, but I feel I am the better for having experienced it. Thank you for the stimulation.
Another impressive image Mal. I keep going to Saltburn - but I haven't caught you there yet! These must be the same half dozen people who get in the way when I take my camera out. Nice one to finish the series. David.
Superbly taken and thought provoking shot as always Mal.
How you come up with these day in day out is a mystery. Something to do with being sh*t hot at it I guess Many a band has had a far worse CD cover than this!
Wonderfuly done, as usual. Love the ghosting, toning, and symetry.
You are really talented Mal. Thank you for the explanations to... I'll try that...
Something as a ghost ... nostalgic is the word for me.
A beautiful work Mal !!
Mal, you continue to blow me away with your photos. This is just superb!
Another that creates an air of mystery and atmosphere.
Now reply to my bl**dy emails you pain in the ass!
très belle photo comme une image de l'Enfer des grecs avec ses fantômes qui rodent près des fleuves
Ah! Mal! A good treatment and 2 seconds that have allowed you to create that fantasmal image... of the life
Bonjour,
Well done effect..Begin to sleep..or dream..Bravo!
very atmospheric - hints at the temporary nature of our time on earth.
it almost apears are tho youve superimposed the figures onto this background. very neet shot. i love the blurriness too, it gives it a very dreamlike feeling to the shot. excellent work as always mister smart.
very nice Mal, I like your title too.
Like ghost. Fantastic!
a dreamworld...now i know i just have to play with vaseline
Superb ending of a great series! I would imagine, that these shots together on a wall would really make a lasting impression. Thanks for sharing!
I particularly like that the men are walking away. Ghosts...
