Nice and inviting. I like the amount of light and detail.
Mal, you must know I adore you. this shot is seriously cool. The light is perfect, great detail, I just love it.
Lovely lit street, Mal, leading right up to the starbursts. I love how the light skims over so many surfaces. I hope Tonny accepts your warm invitation.
Mal theirs light at the end...Nice capture. I liked the slightly curved street
Phenomenal Mal, love the star-lights and this is quite an invitation to come and visit
Wow fantastic Mal, Tonny has to love that dedication.
Beautifully done Mr. Smart. Not quite the Hovis ad feel to it, but a wonderful example od low light photography. Many regards, Neil.
Great shot. I like the starlights
Cool shot, atmosphere of this place is just pouring out of the screen!
great shot mal love all the detail.
Fabulous! The lighting makes this place look so inviting. I really like this. (:o)
A view of York at it's best ... wonderful light and tones. richard.
No blurry figures stalking the street - have you taken this picture mal? I don't see any pubs so how will Tonny believe that this is your home?
A great dedication and I like the line of the street - like somewhere where I want to go. Even just to make sure if there are any pubs.
It's a cracker Mal! Maybe see you in January when I am in York with work?
It almost doesn't look real, Mal! More like a movie/theater set. Are you serious--this is where you live? If so, I'm enthralled. Why would you ever want to come to Amsterdam?!
A deserted other worldly street. I don't think I've ever seen York like this before, so devoid of life. The star bursts and signage keep it in our own century rather than what the architecture might suggest and maybe that's what gives it an uncanny feel as much as your toning- we're so used to there always being people in town.
Love it!
You could straighten up some of those wonky verticals in Photoshop Mal!
Blimey! Coulda sworn I saw this lane [or one like it] somewhere else today, but it had a guy laying down in it...is this a pic if your bedroom, then, mal? Looks like it is big enough to handle a whole double-deck busload of visitors.
Nice one Mal - no EXIF, so curious to know the shutter speed? All the best. Mike
Oh what a sunning street. So much of a vibe, so many interesting signs and great lighting. Love it!
Lovely shot Mal - really like the lighting.
Hi, My name is Tonny. It makes me want an invitation that bad.....
Ah - the Shambles. First time I've ever seen it devoid of human life so I guess you must have taken this on your early morning milk round? Nice one Mal. David
York never looked so good Mal
Stars in the middle of the street ... I like it !!! Very nice atmosphere thanks to the B&W ...
It looks a right Shambles of a place Mal, and you'd have thought they'd have put a pointy bit on that big church at the end of the street!
Another fine image worthy of the best of praise, Mal. Love it.
is this york mal? i love this. it is so me. i wish we had streets like this in victoria.
love the pp of this shot. i would love a copy of this?
Beautiful scene. Great lights. A fantastic image.
beautiful romantic warm, a place with history, if only the walls could speak, they would be telling us great stories, like the image is telling us if we let our mind wander...
Super shot Mal. Love the tones.
What a sparkling place! Great light and tones.
Man there must have been some serious cloning done here Mal to get rid of all them folks that are usually wandering around here...
;P Or you just took it late at night perhaps... Great light and I love the use of the road to lead you right in there...
You've made a magical picture that beckons us to visit this street. Luminescent.
This is the image class that I more like of your style, Mal! That texture, that depth. In your blog memory some this way. I hope that in this street (it is Here where you live) the cars do not circulate around those small side streets. Likey for my, by everything!
silverytastic Mal
Splendid work Mal
I love the way the light on the street and pavement lead the eye into the starburst light. Quality.
Beautiful movieset quality Mal
For everything that has been said before. Fantastic
Nice touch Mal. Like this very much
you take heed of early day & care with a camera...what a image!. reminds me of a wee toon called moffat, somehow....
really good pic, love how the lights works on it
A nice photo to dedicate. I hope it was well received.
I like the winding feel and the vertical crop. It also looks like and vintage hand-coloured postcard...
likey too!
Great one ! The composition and management of lights are perfect !!
i've wondered over this year or so whether we would actually see a few more cobbled stone shots of york from you. i bet you weren't hovering around waiting for a juice. great tones.
Great shot Mal. I've taken a few photos of the same street but none are this good.
I don't think I've ever seen it empty down there. York is beautiful isn't it.
I think I have walked down that street many times and it never looked as good as the shot you have done. Is it the shambles in York?
