Ho hum! Another achingly beautiful, perfectly composed, technically brilliant picture from Mal!
I thought you were going away anyway. I was hoping you would leave us alone for a couple of weeks so some of us mere mortals could have a chance of looking even half competent compared to your contributions! Why dont you put up a dodgy, out of focus picture of next doors cat once in a while just to make us feel better? Is that the sort of pi55-taking you had in mind Mal? : )
100 today you old bugger. i don't think there is a photographer on shutter who has not been inspired by your work. Congratulations on the milestone and safe journey to the other side of the planet. Until i joined shutter i had never seen a nab. these days nabs are everywhere. i am going to look for nabs this weekend. Beautiful shot and nice frame.
you're kidding about the jokes right? I cracked ;yself up while I was writing them, I was about to send them to the Guardian!!! I did my best this week !!!
nice misty feeling senior captain Mal
sorry, no jokes. Just a thank you for 100 fantastic inspiring images.
nice mal.how did u achieve the misty feel?
Happy 100th! Coming here is usually the photographic high point of my day. I am ready for the next 100 amazing images
Can't think of anything funny.
Ur profile is amazing Mal. We r awaiting the next 100 and many more
Hi Mal
Congratulation to the 100, they are just amazing. Looking at the shot today and letting it in, it is just not possible to think of any joke…, thank you for your inspiration and all your great shots Diya
Here's to the most inspirational geek I know. Happy 100th Mal. May your next 100 be as sea laden as your first...I have resisted tripods for ever and congratulations, Mr. Mal, your work has pushed me over the edge of my resistance and I will soon have to carry all sorts of stuff around whereas before I was as light as a bird flitting about as easy as can be...How about chipping in for a backpack?! and maybe a gym membership so I can build myself up to carry all that extra weight around just so that I can catch up with you and your great images. Come to think of it, how about you picking up the tab for the tripod too! It's all your fault!!! Oh yeah, almost forgot! Nice shot today! and yesterday's was a beauty too!
Another inspiring shot of yours Mal - What can I say? Have a good weekend
Congratulations on the 100 mark
That is just marvelous, great image.
100...you wee nipper
PS - I just added you to the blogroll I keep at Blogger. Hope that is OK with you. Keep shooting!
Like islands floating in the mists of time! Great stuff again.
Well, I simply like this photo. Not much to say but I do like it
Gorgeous. I love photos with water so keep 'em coming.
I can say that i am a lot of things....but i really am NOT funny..
So no jokes from me..100 beauty's Mal......great job . I am curious for what to come...
Standing ovation Mal !!
Happy 100 Mal. some cracking shots in there including this one
There is a danger that I might start liking your pictures!
very nice
happy freakin' 100th post Mal. America must have the highest rating when it comes to a sense of humor, but trust me... its all blatant goofism or something similar to the retarded stunts seen in Jacka$$ 2. Thats my excuse for not humoring the masses
ps. I like oceans and all your shots are different every time. lovely shot again.
OK, Mal, is that 100 photos or are you celebrating your 100th birthday??
I personnaly don't think you have enough photos of the sea. I'm land-locked, so it is the only time I get to see it. And, other than actually going to the ocean, is there a better way to see it than in your pictures? I think not! Congratulations on #100! -marybeth
Happy 100th, Mal. You deserve a standing ovation! (And that's putting it mildly, no joke about it.)
Happy 100th!... and good pictures!
Wouldn't worry. as soon as I get some time to do some PP, people will be saying the same thing about me, only with sheep
many congrats on the 100....i hope u stay a geek....
another time wonderful Mal!
Another beautiful shot, Mal.
Great shot.
I'll have to think of a joke over the weekend and post it Monday. I like the sea also, but don't have as many shots as you do. Keep shooting the sea my friend...I don't think you can go wrong.
Mal - superb. Inspiring. Coast Huggers R Us - official.
Mal: Well David, I propose you, Shooter and Jon as the founding members of the coast huggers R Us official appreciation society founding members of the UK branch! Cheers! Mal
Mal, they've all been to good to take the P*$$, not geekworthy either!
Congratulations, your 100th has a wonderful ethereal quality. Magical.
Congratulations on 100 and if you're near the sea, wonderful. The sea is your world.
Well I asked my son and he said "Why did the sea blush?
"Because it saw the seaweed!" So pleased to have discovered Shutterchance and in so doing, even more pleased to benefit your help and encouragement. Thank-you, Jose
As an original coast hugger I can see nothing wrong with coastal shots, christ look how many I have, I love the coast and in particular this area, as I'm sure you know from my shots of there, the nab looks majestic, keep em coming...
Mal: Hey Shooter
Well Shooter, I propose you, David and Jon as the founding members of the coast huggers R Us official appreciation society founding members of the UK branch! Cheers! Mal
I'm hopeless! It should have read:
"Why did the lobster blush?" "Because the seaweed!" (bum bum) And then he said. Mal'll know it, it's on the Penquin packets! Jose
..and congratulations for your 100th pearl Mal!
Nice sea shot Mal... who cares if you have a lot of water shots. Keep shooting them like this and nobody will have the right to complain about it.
I really dig this style of photography and I quite like the rock poking over the horizon near the middle of the frame. It seems to add a lot more interest.
What a nice shot Mal... thank's one more.
lovely rising effect from the sea...
entertaining... feel like there is something going on beneath the surface!!
also, congrats on the 100... may there be many such more...
Loving the shot Mal. a Joke um....
Happy 100 ! You still shoot well... more than that... It's so beautiful, so misty, fantastic, really !! I'm still jealous Mal !!
Wow, 49sec
Beautiful. Nothing more to say.
That's incredibly corny - but still so impressive. I've seen it so many times before, but still, damn it, it makes my heart beat faster. Damn! (But next time be more original.)
awesome mystic photo
I was going to add a comment until I noticed you've had 50 already, which is just plain greedy...... Oh well, might as well join the rest and say "great shot"!!
And No. 52... Nothing fancy, just another: great shot! Somewhere out there, there's a wall yearning for that picture nicely framed and in big print.
53 for me;-) Another superb shot, as always. I like the mist effect, unreal!
I can't sea any see in this one anyway, it's all cloud and mist (must be Scotland or something). Too be honest, the only ones worth looking at are the ones with the sea in them....lol. Is this what you put up for the 100th image aswell? I'm disappointed, Mal. I expected something a little more entertaining, mind you, just how much *can* one expect from the wrong side of The Pennines?
Seriously now though, you've made us suffer long enough...let's just leave it at 100, eh? Now sod off to Japan!
I love your shots of the sea, guess that is because I don't live near the sea. Lake Ontario doesn't have a beautiful skyline like your picture. Congrats on 100!! Looking forward to the next 100.
Why do ducks have webbed feet? To put out fires. Why do elephants have flat feet? To put out burning ducks!!
Great picture Mal. The exposure control, overcast and composition give it a brooding mystery which I love.
As you asked here's another series of 'Why do's' that I heard last night. Why did the first elephant fall out of the tree? Because he was dead. Why did the second elephant fall out of the tree? He thought it was a game. Why did the third elephant fall out of the tree? Peer pressure. Notice nothing since 26 Jan - are you on holiday?
Happy 100th Mal, it's very nice enjoyed your collection
Regards
Congratulations on your 100th image, and very nice it is too
Excellent photo and congrats on your 100th post!
Congratulations Mal. I think youre shots are GREAT. And youre pretty cool yourself too
Gosh! I can't believe i missed this. (Been too busy I guess, excuses) Boy! You've got to 100....well done buddy. Look forward to your 100 more.

Did you hear about the bloke who was hit by a train?
He was chuffed to bits.
OZ? The penitentiary or Kansas? Hurry back, we miss your great images.
Why do anarchists only drink herbal tea?
Because proper tea is theft. What do you call a judge with no thumbs? Justice Fingers. :|
I have just found your site and I have to say your images are just great, very good.

We had a great night in Okayama, I had so much fun. It was a pleasure meeting you and all your friends to. When you come to the UK you must come and see me in York or London. Your e-mail address has not been included in this message, so I can not reply directly. Send me an e-mail to mal@malsmart.co.uk I will then have a private conversation with you. Fantastic shot!
Where you are, Mal?
And your photos? Everything is ok? Best Regards !
You back yet? .... If so, where's the holiday snaps?
Zoe AGAIN.
This shot is awesome! Except for one tincy-wincy thing.. My eyes are drawn to a slight line around the rock in the far distance. But if you ask my dad he will tell you that i am EXTREMELY picky! But anyway, this shot is really great.
Mal: I can see that you will be a hard lady to please! Yes there is a slight halo line around the rock, which I should have illiminated in photoshop! Well spotted eagle eyes (nobody else spotted it!) mal
Awesome to say the least.
AGAIN WOW THIS PICTURE IS AMAZING
A very good composition and creative result !!!!
