It's perfect for you, Mal, and I thank you for getting back in touch with us. The "family issues" we deal with often almost sidetrack us completely. When we can touch base again with the community that loves us, we are richer and stronger for it.

Mal, thank you for getting back to us- and with such a wonderful portrait- what for an elegant, fine gesture, what for a face expression, full of wisdom, scepticism, knowing of life, a bit curiosity - a character pic indeed! I'm not sure of the gentleman spotted you, perhaps he wanted to talk with you, we are not able to interpret the body language of the Japanese, I read that they are laughing if they are sad, and weeping if they are pleased. I love your pic- the face of the Sir and I 'm full of respect of him and sympathy with him! The longer I look at him, the more I'm familiar with him!
Portrait photography may be the most interesting and most difficult sort of photography- you have mastered that!

Mal, it does nat matter that you might think you are poor in staying in touch, real friends get on where they left, it does not matter, I find my SC very soulful to me too, I am too going through a rough time, I also want to put more time in SC, but am not able, so I understand.

A wonderful candid shot Mal. He certainly doesn't seem to have minded you taking the photograph. It's always difficult to decide whether to risk the candid shot and be spotted or whether to ask, but then you don't get such a spontaneous pose! I actually found that in Italy when I asked to take pictures of people they were more than happy, but perhaps it helps being a woman! Hope you sort out your family issues soon - we keep in touch when we can and carry on where we left off - that's what's so great about SC.

It's a terrifically sharp shot for long range. When I try it I usually get some fuzzy edges. It's also a fantastic portrait. He might have been scoring a point, but it makes a great photo.
