Reminds me of Star Wars, don't ask me why it just does

I think I'm going to come up and spend time with you on the coast. We need to organise an appropriate time....
Nice shot. Your stuff really inspires me.
You have an amazing ability to create mood. This feels very sci-fi to me.
This is wonderful Mal. I love the tones, the light and shadows, the textures, everything. Another one headed for my likeys!
very impressive.
Very good Malcolm. This green "virage" suits well here. A dramatic atmosphere... is it to break down waves ?
The ancients have landed here are coming back soon once they figure out what the green button does on the 5d. Great mood here. Living somewhere with only a couple of metre tides this does seem very alien. Great shot of this landmark. Everytime i have seen one of the coast huggers post one of these there seems to be water there so nice shot of the spacebase.
Beautiful image. I like the interesting tones.
Dramatic, starkly beautiful image, Mal.
The deep olive green tint suits perfectly, and the dappled deck shadow is an outstanding component. Is that a shore-break I can see happening on the right through the pier supports? And...is the title a reference to that Erik von Daniken who published books some years back claiming proof of visitation by critters from beyond Earth?
Mal some of your shots are really off the hook.. this is a gem of a shot you surely have an 'eye' for photography (understatement) . Well done.
Now that's what I mean about Photoshop, I'm so jealous ! I love the title bruv and it looks like all of the other comments have said it all but I'll say it again, you do have an eye and this is a great shot. It's the kind of shot that you'd see on a very large wall in an office building or at someone's home who had great taste and of course a large wall.

Awesome image Mal.
Excellent as always. Strange, if wood is the current material we think the alien did it with wood, and later concrete, metal etc. I think aliens will use chromolatistic as their material - don't google it, I just thought it up. Just a thought of flight and a flight of thought.
Another great image Mal. Have you toned this one - it looks just a little away from black (or is it my monitor)? I see you used a 60 sec exposure - did you use a ND filter? David.
I'm loving your titles as much as your work
goodness gracious...this is good
Fresh view of an oft-photographed alien artifact. These structures are found on many many coastlines yet, surprisingly, Erich never wrote a best-selling book about them...
So I just Wiki-searched Von Daniken and can now understand the title and comments.
What an interesting corner, very beautiful image.
Nice toning, great silky sky and textured ground. Good stuff.
wow great tones u gave it and superb angle
it does have an 'other worldly' feel to it - excellent shot
King of Patterns at his best!
Wow! Amazing! You have a fantastic eye. Great composition.
king of patterns eh?...why the hell not...lovely lovely shot...
Looks like the beginning of a journey into oblivion. Chilling atmosphere. All the best, Dave
Can`t add anything to what has already been said, except I really like this, too. (:o)
You've certainly come back with some cracking shots Mal.
Excellent tones and framing.
Now you are really making me jealous - this is a seriously good shot. Can I ask where this is, presumably on this planet? I can just see my Mirror Craft docking at the end of the pier lol.

I love the textures, the colour tone, the subject choice but, sorry there's a but, the acute angle you've taken this at means that my eye is not drawn in so much. A few paces to the left, and then turn a little to the right and you keep all the elements that so beautifully captured but maybe also drawn the eye into the frame a little. So sorry to always to appear critical, you must tire of it. I however do take an immense enjoyment from your shots and learn a great deal...they also mean that I consider things from a different perspective. I also appreciate that I often go against the flow so totally accept that my comments should be taken on balance.
Cheers Simon, your adoring fan.
Brilliant! Love the toning here. Is this one of your IR shots and where was this one taken?
Hey, yes, Chariots of the Gods and all that. You're so right with your title.
Love the tonal range
great one !
Wonderful shot, the colour is a nice idea !
Jepp, it really has an outworldly flavour - the cylons are coming back (just finished the first season of Battlestar Galatctica and couldn't help making that connection...
The monochromatic flavour with the greenish tint works perfectly - and the structure that looks like a small robot looking over the fence is just the icing on the cake...
Bold.
Wow!!!!!!!!! Awesome
Very nice shot ! Great perspective and treatment Mal!
On our road to nowhere..
